3.0 is to soon. 3.4, first, intake, exhaust, u-bend delete, do stage one mods first, then move onto stage two mods.
And get the DHP or INTENSE chip. ONCE the car is ready for it

Thats all well and good, but he has to follow a modifiers order of operations. The 3.0 will not help as well as it should.... once the proper modifications elsewhere are completed...then it will be

If he puts that 3.0 on his car without a cam or rockers to back it up, intake, exhaust and PCM, he'll get so much KR it will be self-defeating.
Tell your friend to join www.clubgp.com or here if he wants to build a fast car. Simply shopping on Ebay and having you ask questions is going to get him nowhere, and probably into alot of trouble.
VERY few GP'* and Bonnevilles are capable of running a 3.0 pulley.

Too small without alot of other work.
Killer. Trust us here. We have some very fast 3800'*. 3.4 is probably the smallest he should go right now, and that shouldn't be done without a full CAI first.
Tell your friend to join here or CGP and have HIM ask the questions. And BEFORE he spends any money.

For real, I mean, its a lot of wasted money and he will be very discouraged with the lack of performance that a GP can bring.
If he has the money then he can afford to be smart

In order to run the 3.25 the following mods will probably be needed. If he has the money to do it all at once, so be it.
proper pulley puller
2 stage colder plugs
180 t-stat
ubend remove (possible resonator)
CAI
1.9 rockers
headers
PCM
and even after that the car should be scanned for KR.
The other route is to get an intercooler and then he could possibly run a 3.0 with just the exhaust mods and a t-stat and colder plugs.
