My sisters lease is coming up and if she doesn't get into another lease she will need a car...so what are some reliable cars that will make it to 200k at least - and are pretty easy to repair

90-93 3.1 equipped cars seem to make it to 200k with ease.

Oh yea, they can go 200k with HARD driving. I mean, you can seriously beat the crap out of those. Those things don't quit.

very true! i turbocharged mine at 227,000 miles and it still runs awesome, no problems whatsoever, now at ~245,000 miles pushing 13psi and could probably pull off a very low 14 second pass trapping ~100mph. all on an engine that has never been rebuilt. and yes they are extremely easy to work on, much like a 3800.

i think any 60*V6 GM car is dependable - except for the 3.4 DOHC 'LQ1' of course. that is a very high maintenance engine and IMO is rather frankenstien in design and very hard to work on and expensive to repair. the 3100/3400 are great engines but they had problems with the LIM gaskets but then again some 3800s did as well i think. either engine is VERY dependable.

For $1500 you could get easily get a car that will make it to 200,000 miles.
(If it'* already got 199,000 miles on it.) :P

Just kidding (kinda...). What kind of monthly budget is she willing to put into maintenance and repairs?
