Regardless of what you think of the car, or the stereotype you give to it'* owner, it'* still a very sad and sick thing that happened. No one wants to lose their car at all, esp to a repair shop that you believe is going to repair your car and not wreck it. I don't want to start any kind of flame war, but kazuki that comment was uncalled for. Imagine the role was reversed and your Bonnie was wrecked and some viper owner said "one less working Bonneville is a good thing". You work hard on your car, you enjoy modding it and keeping it clean. You take pride in your car, I imagine the viper owner does the same. We should respect others and their rides, and hope they respect us. It'* a horrible way to lose ones car.
I suspect if he owns a viper he can afford a good lawyer. I hope everything works out in his favor... and to quote SSE14U24ME "I'd hang the owners nads to the wall!! " .. as well as the guy who actually was driving it. I'd be sure they never worked in another repair shop and never drove another persons car again.

Sounds alot like that story that was posted way back about the mustang that taken for a drive (not totalled though) and then the mechanic posted what he did on the forum; where the owner found out!

It looks like the shop guy must have been moving at a pretty good clip to f*ck it up that bad.
If I owned a shop and my employee did something like that, I'd make sure he got criminal charges.
You can't really blame the owner of the shop, and mechanics need to be able to drive the vehicle to diagnose some problems, but in this case it was a joyride clear-cut and simple, send him to jail.
