I used to have an older passport, darn good front and rear support but it did not do lasers. I have not had one since... It is not worth it where I live since 20 over the limit regardless of where you are is only a $56 ticket, so whats the point of spending $200+ on a good radar detector? I'd rather spend that money on some high end brakes. However in most other places it might be worth spending a couple hundred bucks on a good radar detector.

My preference for brands is Bel. Escorts are good from what I've heard though. It'* been years since I owned one.

The 9500i isn't GPS guided (idk exactly what you mean by that), but what it does do is allow you to set speed traps in its memory. What it does is when you go by, it warns you that you're coming up to a speed trap. Also, and I think this is the best feature, it lets you program where auto doors and other false alarms are, so it'll tell you where they are. It will also tell you if there'* a separate radar (cop) nearby with a different alert. Pretty cool, but I don't think it'* worth that much...
Save on gas and go the speed limit, that'* what I do

Don't program out store doors. That'* an ideal place for police radar to set up for that very reason. They expect people to ignore their detectors in those locations.

if the radar always goes off in the same location, every time you drive by, programming it out or not wont make a difference, either teh detector ignores it, or the driver ignores it because you know its a door... i would much rather program it out and not hear the beep.
