Default Test Drove A Mercury Marauder

Ya, i'll admit it was my dream car back in high school. Everyday I went to the school computer to find the latest releases of when it would come out. So, today as I was going to the pet store I passed a dealor with a big black Marauder. I had to stop and see how it drove. And well, I want my countless hours in the computer lab back!!

The car looks awsome on the outside and the engine sounds sweet, thats all I can really give it. Once you get in you are surrounded by the smell of a cop car. I don't know what kind of pleather they used on those seats but it stinks. So I start it up and the engine revs to 2K to let you hear some rumble. So thats cool. So I get on the road and the damn thing wants to go into OD at 28mph. Like all Ford traannies I need to give half throttle to get a downshift. The sound of the engine is awsome as I give 1/4 throttle, which is what is needed to keep up with others going on the highway. Everytime you take your foot off the gas on the highway the trans would jerk just like my old 89 Grand Marquis. The only place were this car had some guts was from 50-80mph were it could keep up with a L67. Down low it has nothing, can't even chirp the tires. The only thing it has off the line is a jerky converter so the gas pedal is very sensitive but once you push on it nothing is there. And even with 4 wheel disk brakes it could not stop near as quick as my car.

Oh ya, if you ever want to feel like you own a $50K car drive a Marauder and get back in your car. And you will find your 4T65-E is awsome as well.

Hah, yeah, I drove one once, didn't like it at all. Yet I drove a 2006 Crown vic with the sport handling package and THAT thing felt completely different to me. She wanted to move. Did a couple brake assisted burn outs and had some fun. Not a bad ride, but you always gotta remember, you're talking about one of the largest modern domestic sedans anywhere. 2 tons+ of weight and not much more power, or less power than an S2 SSEi. Its what I think of as a huge car thats not slow, but not fast either.

its the old people think they're quick car.

Try the Kenny Brown Edition...
Vive la difference!!

But yeah, the stock Marauders suck. Back at the auction we used to get Interceptors by the batch, and you could do donuts and powerslides all day. The Marauder just fell on its face as soon as the tires hooked up.
