I am quitting my job.
I am quitting my full time job as a graphic designer with more than 3 years experience with this company. They snatched me up when I was still in college because they were in need of a designer. It has been a good job, however, since I have been working full time, I have not been going to school. I tried to go to school and work full time there, but my grades were so bad, that I had to drop the classes. I only have 1 full load semester left, 15 credits. I am going to put my 2 weeks in at the end of the year, and have my last day be right before my birthday, January 13th. The company has no idea I am quitting, and this is going to be like stabbing a knife in their heart. I literally ran the prepress department and nobody else knows how to do my job, without training. This is going to be a huge lifestyle change for me, as my income will be dropping by half. I hope to find an evening part time job once school kicks in No more modding, no more eating out, no more casual spending. Oh well, as long as I get my degree I (and my parents and girlfriend, and future employer) will be happy. I really hope the PA sells soon, as some of that money will help feed me for the next 5 months. Once graduated, I plan to look for a higher paying job in a larger company that I can actually advance in. The company I am with now, has gave me a $.50 raise in the 3+ years I have been there. Wish me luck!

Best of luck to you Andrew! I hope your grades match or beat mine from last spring semester (had 90% grade overall, or a 3.6X GPA) and your luck finding a job is better (had to go the whole semester without a job due to my class schedule and finding out my previous manager was backstabbing me and lying about my work habit'*/skills).
I'd suggest getting out there right now, looking for a job before Christmas while business is good and employers are seeing good times. You can take all job offers, and take your pick of them when it comes closer to your final day at your current job.
Just make sure that you don't check the YES box for 'May we Contact your current employer' before the 2-week notice gets put in.

Yes, that sounds like a good idea. However, I need to know how much homework I am going to have before I tell a company what hours I can work. I have a buddy that I could work for doing after hour cleaning at local businesses for $10/hr.

I have no respect for my Boss. Yes, he signs my checks, but thats about it. I have received 2 compliments from him in the last 3 years. They were, "looks nice" and "good job". He has verbally told me of the pay raises to expect on the next check, that I have never seen. I fully intend to make my quitting a slap in his face. If I tell him any sooner, he will just make it harder on me during the training procedure of the next college student employee.
