im thinking about getting a hitch and cargo carrier with my next check. im sick and tired of disassembling the mower handle and lifting the damn thing into my trunk 3 times a week.

(yes im aware i could buy a new mower for the same price, but itll be nice if i ever decide to tow something light, and it provides extra cargo room for the frequent trips to b-ham and back)

Didn't do anything to the truck today, at work I finished up a $2800 job on a 05 silverado, front pads and rotors, serviced rear brakes, right front axle seal, transmission pan gasket and filter, transfer case and diff services, oil change, 4 tires and an alignment, I think that'* it. Then I pulled the coolant crossover off a 2007 Cadillac DTS with the Northstar, what a PAIN IN THE YOU KNOW WHAT!!!!!!!!!! Gaskets were leaking, noticed the waterpump was leaking so I ordered one for the morning then I'll put it back together. Then diagnosed an extended crank on a 2010 Silverado, PCM not powering up fuel pump control module until crank, needs PCM. That was my day.

And this is why I don't take my vehicles to the Stealer.

Hell, even at my shop the prices are crazy. So glad I only pay cost for parts.

We charged a guy $200 to R&R a crank shaft position sensor on a 02 Malibu with the 3100.

Hey, if you can, look up the cost to R&R the steering gearbox on a 2000 4x4 blazer.

this is why i always thought about doing stuff for people for cars on the side with no over head i could charge half of what shops are charging and do pretty well. when i do work on peoples quads the shops charge 75 and i charge 20-30 depending how well i know them and i still feel pretty good and people are happy to get a deal

Yep, exactly. My first day at the job I got asked if I do work on the side.

If I can I'm gonna set up my truck so I can make house calls and make a ton of money while still giving a deal.

Lady came in for a tuneup on a 03 Altima with the 4 banger. I pulled all four coil packs off. When I got the number 1 hole I was greeted with a lot of oil and this.

Apparently the 2.5L Nissan valve cover is plastic and it cracked. This caused the tube seals to fail thus all of the oil chilling in there. Also, this weakened the coil boots on the 1 and 2 coils so the pulled apart when I pulled them out. We rec'd two new coils assemblies with boots, new tube seals, and a new valve cover to fix the issues.

She came in for a $130 job (tune up + oil change) and was about the leave with a $600 job. However, she declined the stuff to actually fix her car and told us to just do what she came in for, against us letting her know that the spark plug would foul out almost immediately so the $130 she was spending was pretty much for nothing as it would need to be done again.

She drove away with fresh oil and a nice cloud of smoke for her time.
