Awesome. What'* the best gaskets to use? You wouldn't happen to have a part number I can walk into Advance with would you? Also, since I'll be in there, anything else you recommend I do?

thanks again
Yes, but DO NOT use the SWR meter that'* on the front of the radio. Those are junk and vary from radio to radio and are hardly ever accurate. Either take it to a shop so they can do it, or spend the $20 or so and buy yourself an SWR meter so you can tune it.

will do. got it all mounted up. looks pretty clean if i say so myself. i ended up using a piece of window regulator track. it actually worked perfectly being c shaped like that. saved me a ton of drilling with 2 different sized bits.

might make a how to if anyone is interested.

i like it alot. and with the way i mounted it (completely unintentionally) the hangar stops the mic in the perfect spot if i slide the mic down the dash. so i can hang the mic and never take my eyes off the road.

i have found 2 problems though.

1) i need to figure out why noone can hear me ( i suspect dynamike is all the way down) i tried a radio check on the way home on 19 with several trucks around me and got no response. i only tried once though because i dont yet have it tuned so who knows.

2) i need to figure out how to isolate the ground to my h.i.d'*. i have almost no static, untill i turn my lights on. then the rx meter goes up to 3. the drl'* dont affect it, so its gotta be the ballasts for the hids.

it already paid for itself though. truck called out a cop with instant on about 5 miles before i got there.

tune it on 19 with the front panel meter, you dont want to be talking on it until you at least do that.

ive done that already, according to the radio itself its perfect. figured a 3 sec radio check couldn't hurt till i get an swr meter.

You'd be surprised how far off the * meter on the front can be.

It even can vary radio to radio of the same model.
