Did a pan drop fluid and filter change on Bonne'* 4T65-E today. Used a AC-Delco filter and AC-Delco Dex VI, also replaced the OEM square pan magnet with 2 round magnets, AC-D & GM Part #29535617per TSB# 08-07-30-040B.

Default working on the T/A

My son finally started up the 99 T/A yesterday after a complete engine rebuild and immediately decided to order a couple of mufflers. Just too loud. Dialled in on the tune with HP Tuners, and got it running pretty well. Just have to work on getting it to idle with the lopey cam. The bad idle may also be related to a vacuum leak since it is only pulling 5 psi at idle. Some of the mods:
  • P1SC Procharger supercharger
  • dual intercoolers
  • CAI with K&N cone filter
  • LSX intake manifold
  • 60 pound fuel injectors
  • new cam machined for blower application
  • complete new performance valve train (lifters, push rods, rocker arms, springs, etc.)
  • Corvette Z06 block
  • complete new rotating assembly, upgraded components to support the build, blueprinted and balanced
  • dual fuel pumps
  • boost gage and air/fuel gage in the A pillar pod
  • frame rail reinforcements
  • bullet proof bell housing
  • performance clutch
  • remote clutch bleeder
  • wide band O2 sensor
  • Kooks long tube headers
  • catch cans
  • double pulley timing chain
  • 8 rib harmonic balancer
Shooting for 650 RWHP, but still several tunes and a dyno run away from that. We rebuilt the T56 transmission last year to upgrade all the components in advance of this build, so the only remaining weak point is the rear end and the drive shaft. Haven't decided if we are going to upgrade that now, or wait until it blows up. I think we should also add a splash shield under the CAI filter in the fenderwell, but that can be done later.

sounds like a fun ride, i put a summit cap girdle and axles etc. in my 10bolt seems to hold up so far. im not putting down that kind of power though. i dont think theres anything you can do to it to make it stand up to 650hp and a T56

I agree, that'* why we didn't even try some sort of band aid to strengthen the existing rear end. Would have been a waste of money. Probably won't take it to the track until next summer, so we have some time to research what would work best.

It was a fun car to drive before the engine re-build. Can't wait to see how she runs once we get the tune dialled in (and the mufflers installed).

I picked up MAF cleaner, carb cleaner, engine degreaser and brake parts cleaner today. This weekend I will be doing my part to ruin the environment.
