Have you thought about removing the intake manifold? That should give you some extra room on top.
I don't think I'm doing anything today. I'm sick. Started Tuesday, yesterday felt crummy but went in to work anyways. I should have stayed home. Feel a little better today, but not even close to leaving the house. Kind of messes up my plans to build the engine.

Yeah..Intake is worse than putting it in as a whole. No room, no vision on most stuff.. As Jon is gonna find out. It'* not the friendliest motor.

Truck got a fresh oil change today. 11 quarts of new 15W40.
The boat got a ton of WD40 sprayed down the carb while cranking without plugs, then gas.(displace 7 months of moisture) Plugs went in, motor fired up and idled nicely. Got the sundeck sidepanels bolted on and the awning braces up. Looks like she goes to her wet slip a week from Sat.
Made an appointment to have the Venom buffed out in mid May, pics will follow.
