Pedaled to the Municipal Cemetery with my sweet wife to attend the Memorial Day service for veterans who died to keep our country free. (Thanks, Chad.) Fought back a tear when three trumpeters situated around the audience played taps doing a double echo. Thought about my dad in WWII. Wished that more people in our country understood that the world is a dangerous place and that freedom is never free.

Went home and washed the Outback and put in a can of refrigerant. Took a nice ride with Judy and the dog to the Des Moines river valley. A beautiful day here in central Iowa.

Slept in until 9 (I was up late singing/dj'ing for a grad party)
did a bunch of nothing (laundry, pay bills, figure out debt/income ratio, got a headache and took an hour nap) until the kids came home at 3pm.
Started the grill & went to the local grocery store to buy rolls, pop, chips, cake (Ditchboy turned 20 today)
got to the counter only to realize they were out of power and could only accept cash
went to the nearest bank - ATM was out of order
went to the next nearest bank- ATM "could not dispense $$ at this time"
went to the gas station - finally got cash
went back to the grocery store to pay for goods
got home, expecting a hot grill...it was cold...it ran out of propane
went back to the store to fill up the tank - power had come back on...thank goodness
got home to cook food - found out that instead of having 6 kids to feed, there would only be 2.
took the excess food to my parent'* house for an impromptu barbeque
on the way there, I stopped to add air to the rear tire that has a slow leak. The air pump took my 50 cents ...did not give out air...it was out of service
parents whined because they never hear me sing...equipment was still in the car
gave parents a mini-concert on their back deck
laughed my arse off watching my mom & my aunt (60 & 73 yr olds) dance to Achy Breaky Heart (I hate that song...they requested it).
Despite Murphy'* Law....it was a great day!

I woke up early for a nonworking day 11am. Went to Lowes & picked up a few things came home. I removed my rear seats, deck and c-pillar trim. In order to add sound deadening material and quite some rattles that has been driving me nuts. That worked out great. I was planning on washing & waxing my car until my best friend called me up wanting my to help him carry a 57” widescreen hd tv up two flights of stairs into his house. So after that stayed and played some 360 once it was hooked up. Then I headed home for the family cookout. & the rest of the day was spent relaxing around the house.

Burned flags and scared people.

Ok, my Dad'* Boy Scout troop was doing a flag disposal colection day, and then I went on a joyride with petraman, during which I passed a Chevy whose driver got really wide eyes.

We were a busy bunch yesterday. Lots of spending time with our family and general chores around the house.

Sounds like we all had a decent day excepty Tracy. I have a slow leak as well in one tire but I have a small air compressor in the garage.

Heck.. my day went quietly..

Up a little later than usual.
Marvelled at how nice the carpets can look. Wished I had had time to have steamed them before NEBF.
Matt and Nick stop over. Matt hopes to see if 3.8L stock rockers fit a 4.3L.
Check out my car for KR at the rear sensor to remember the missing weatherseal.
Run truck up to dealer for the latest recall, seeing no KR the whole way.
Work on car while Matt ends up breaking the rocker support and finding his rockers are much shorter in length than 3.8L'*.
Search for hours with Matt for aftermarket rockers since he'll have to remove all of them to change the $3 part.
Water lawn
Surf BC
Wait for Pat to arrive for departure home this morning.

Overall a restful day.

The whole weekend I was at this nice house in Maryland with a bunch of people
As far as yesterday went, I was in a hot tub for till about 2:30 am.
People were all falling asleep real early.. I really wasn't trying to clock out that early so I woke two girls up and made them dance. That was on for an hour or so and then I was starving.. A buddy and I made a bunch of burgers. That took a good while because neither of us have used a real grill before... and we were not too sober We got it done though and the four of us ate a ton. The sun came up and we were hanging out on a dock for a little bit.
Everyone else was getting up pretty early and my eyes were closing. So, I went to sleep around 8 am or so.
Woke up around noon and hopped back in the hot tub, got out, took a nap, got up and cleaned the house up a bit, ate again, hung out on the dock some more and came back to Philly around 8pm.
I love vacation.
