40,000Us maybe. Put a down payment on a house young. Just slacking off at a pipline shop Im producing a gross of 87,000cdn (mind you thats with an hour or two of over time daily). I might have to open one of those savings accounts that jim is talking about now that the house is paid off. Another big one is not smoking or drinking, my uncle is paying 900 a month for cigs and booze. He is 62 with 3years left to before forced retirement. I dought CPP(canadian pension plan) will give him 1,400 a month just so him and his wife can smoke and drink.

I would say 40k is average but thats just the top of my head. I am sure there is an accepted figure somewhere on a gov website.

I dont make 40k..I have trouble making ends meet but in a real crisis it WOULD be possible (not comfortable) to keep a roof over my head and family fed just delivering pizzas. And I am currently saving for retirement

So the saying the rich get richer and the poor get poorer is accurate.

Thats why it is SO critical to start saving in your late teens and early 20'*. GIve yourself a fighting chance for your adult years when expenses get higher. Granted having a spouse helps, cost of living is shared.
Now you tell me. Where were you when I was in my early 20'* to learn that lesson??? You are wise beyond your years Jim.
Yeah..... (maybe not about the wise part...)

The average household makes ~40K a year, but the average person makes ~20K.
I was told the two best things to invest in are real estate and booze, because those are two things that will always be needed.
