Default Progressive?

Anyone insured with Progressive?
I just found out how much it is to insure my blazer through the company i've been with since i was 16 and it is $121 a month for PLPD. $80 more than i was paying for the Bonneville.

I can barely afford that a month, so i went searching around trying to find a cheaper insurance.

Progressive turned out to be 51 a month for PLPD, and for 120 bucks i could have full coverage.

So i figured buy the PLPD for 50 bucks then when work picks up and i can afford it put full coverage on it.

So anyone have any experience w/ progressive?

I would forego the full coverage. Not worth it, IMO on a very common vehicle that'* 10 years old.

Heck, I don't even carry full coverage on the 01 GS. I'm willing to take that risk. Three years of paying full coverage about equals the value of the car. So, I keep only liability on it and pocket the difference. In the event we get into an accident, I'll use that saved cash to fix it. If it'* too bad to fix I'll part it out to offset my loss.

What'd you pay for that Blazer? 1440 a year is what it would cost you for full coverage. After three years, that truck wouldn't resell for 4320.

Progressive quoted me 10% lower than Geico for either car or both.

I really love the level of customer support and service that Progressive provides, as do some of my friends with them.

totally depends on the person. I have personally been with Progressive for a couple years now and everything has been great. I have not filed any claims though. A couple years ago when I was searching for rates, Geico quoted me upwards of $1,000 per month. I had a good laugh before I hung up.

Geico has always been more expensive for me, even if they say they can save you 15% or more. I have been with progressive for several years now, never any problems, and always the cheapest. I would recommend them!

My buddy had a buncha tickets, reckless and speeding, he was insured through progressive and geico (at different times), and was paying around 380/month just for liability. He switched to a local company and is paying around 150, I say shop local.
