Wow, a good 40* drop in temps in the last 24 hours. Dropping in to the 40s tonight. That'* just not right.

Tuesday: I was driving home from Brooklyn, and the whole way up 278 and 95, I could just see this gigantic thunderhead directly in front of me. I got closer and closer to it for the next two hours, then it got pitch-black after Stamford. But it never rained, I'm told.

Yesterday: I had a good lightning show on the drive home.

Today: I had a good lightning show on the drive home, until it started pouring rain. And I mean, pouring. Then my belt slipped off in a puddle while on a congested highway with no shoulders (Merritt Parkway), I couldn't make it to the nearest exit, and in my trunk in said pouring rain, I found out that I had my sockets and wrenches but no ratchets, because I was cleaning them last night. (The tow truck driver had a 3/8" drive, thankfully.)

Tomorrow: cooler and clear, I'm told.

Such strange weather this year here. First a spring where it rained almost every day for a month and a half, then a month of drought. Now yesterday it fell 20 degrees from a high of 97(99 the day before) clouded up, and dumped an inch of rain on us in 2 hours. I finally got my garden dried out and tilled 2 days ago. Now it'* a muddy mess that had pools of water standing yesterday. Everything I planted took a pounding, but at least it is all still standing.

You must've seen what I had to drive home in last night from White Plains to into the city.

It was 100 the whole day before that happened, then it went down to 60. Good thing it wasn't too humid.

Our upper 90'* of last week did a bipolar plummet to mid 60'* highs and 2 1/2 inches of rain over the weekend. Summer of flipflops. My garden was under water for most of the weekend, finally drained this morning. Miraculously everything is still trying to manage.
