im looking at some new ram and my computer came with pc2100 ram can i use pc2700 without any problems. wouldn't it be faster?

Depends on your motherboard. Check your paperwork or the Manufacturer'* web site...

In general, it will fit and should work. Whether or not your board will run at top speed will depend on if it'* set up to use 2700

well i just talked to tech support on the website useing a program kinda like aim but for them. he said i can only use pc2100 ram and i can upgrade my processor to a max of 2.13 ghz. i liked the aim kinda thing so much better then the phone service.

if you don't wanna just relay on tech support go and download hwinfo32
it will tell you your computers specs and such

If it'* the same FSB speed, say 333MHz or 400MHz, then, yes, you can. For instance, DDR 333 RAM comes in a few different internal speeds, thus the 2100, 2700, 3200 numbers...

EDIT--> Okay, scratch that. DDR 266 MHz is PC2100. DDR 333 MHz is PC2700, and DDR 400 MHz is PC3200.

So it looks as if your MB is 266MHz FSB, so, yes, PC2100 is all you can go. There. At least I gave ya some more insight...I hope...lol...
