SP1 definetly speeds up file copying/moving, this is one of the bigger things with it IIRC.
I gained quite a bit of performance last night...by deleting vista and reinstalling XP.
What are your specs?

Definitely helped my data transfer rate for my flash drives and whatnot. Other than that, windows sidebar never randomly uses 1.5GB of RAM and 100% CPU utilization any more.
I do have an issue logging on though, you type the password and hit enter, and you get a black screen 10-15 sec before desktop shows. I've disabled everything on startup and it still does it.

Yeah Vista works fine for me but IE crashes often so I use Firefox as my main browser and IE for quick searches. I use Ultimate because it came with my system but I have a copy of vista business that I may install on my laptop but still not sure.

downloading right now. (at 1 MB/* )
i haven't had many Vista specific problems besides explorer CONSTANTLY freezing and having to restart the process. Hopefully this fixes that. I love service packs.

Hehe... I wonder if SP2 reverts it back to XP.
To be honest I haven't touched Vista yet. I've used it a couple times on friends computers and I'm not impressed.
MS did announce a couple weeks back that their new OS is due out in 2010 or 2011 I think.

ME was a nightmare... 2000 was cool and XP was allright after SP2 but ME was just too far gone to even try to salvage...
I'll probably just hang onto XP 'till whatever else comes out... or convert to linux.
