What is the best format to download a video (music video) and watch on your computer using windows media player? I want to be able to maximize the picture as much as possible without it being distorted. Like is mpg better than avi?

Its all about the bitrate [amount of actual info in the video]. You could kinda call it like the density, the more dense, the more actual info in the file, and like the more dense, the more weight. Make sense? If you are downloading movies [legal] mpeg is the most common format. AVI common, but not as. VOB [DVD files] is THE best hands down, but its also the largest file size.

It all depends on the compression.

A RAW AVI file is good, but it is very BIG. As for MPG and WMV, it all depends on how much its compressed.
