Exactly, and something we need to re-think here is the US. We got on a safety trend and decided to back peddle 'Nuclear". Well guess what, the rest of the world decided different and we can't make them stop. We need to get back to nuclear fuel while remaining persistent to remove the nuclear weapon threat. I believe and hope this can be accomplished. Because it'* going to have to be done, regardless of whether we ourselves re ramp up nuclear energy production. Coal isn't going to last long term either.

It was in the works at Yucca Mountain, Arizona. In 2002 Congress passed a Law mandating it. It has the right location and soil for it, but a previously known fault line was discovered to run to close to the proposed facility for Arizona residents and officials. Bush ***** footed around the issue while trying to keep all concerned (Por and Con) complacent. Obama has albeit killed it by pulling all funding and On March 3, 2010, the Department of Energy filed a motion with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to withdraw the license application for a high-level nuclear waste repository at Yucca Mountain with prejudice. The President’* fiscal year 2011 budget request eliminates funding for the Office of Civilian Radioactive Waste Management all together and put it back into the hands of the Office of Nuclear Energy. A new "Blue Ribbon" Commission on America’* Nuclear Future, led by Congressman Lee Hamilton and General Brent Scowcroft, will "conduct a comprehensive review of policies for managing the back end of the nuclear fuel cycle, and will provide recommendations for developing a safe, long-term solution to managing the Nation’* used nuclear fuel and nuclear waste."........... Back to loading that Prius with arms and ammunition, and add to the list "Nuclear Fallout Gear"

I seem to remember hearing the french found a why to reprocess the spent fuel in to usable fuel, some is unusable and becomes waste, but most, if I remember right, well in to the 90% range was usable. But lets not do what the french do. Heck, their cars even get far better mileage then our hybrids, and that'* with sick HP and turbos.

HEY, It'* a Hatchback! And the seats fold down nicely. We just got to make sure no bullets roll down onto the battery pack. And remember the Toyota Sudden Acceleration Team Scream. "Tear the F'in KEY OFF!!!"
