Anyone need a laptop?
A few months ago I started a side business buying broken laptops off ebay, fixing, refurbishing, and selling them. It brings in some money on the side, and I figure with the way the economy is, I could sell a refurbished laptop at a low cost to someone who can't afford to buy one brand new.
Just figured I'd throw this out here, in case anyone is looking for a laptop and doesn't want to spend the money for a new one.
I work with HP DV1000 and DV4000 laptops. The difference between the two is mostly just the screen size, where the DV1000'* are 14.1" and the DV4000'* are 15.4".
These all have between 60-100GB hard drives, 1GB-1.5GB of RAM, and between 1.6GHz and 2.13GHz Pentium M processors. To give you an idea, a 1.73GHz Pentium M will perform around the level of a 3GHz Pentium 4, and a 2.13GHz Pentium M will perform around the level of a 3.8GHz Pentium 4.
The reason I sell these is because they're pretty fast for what 99% of people use, they're much faster and capable than netbooks that sell around $250-$300, they have excellent battery life, and they're reliable. I know this becuase I use one as my personal laptop. Typical use with full brightness and wireless on will get you a little over 3 hours on a 6 cell battery and 6 hours on a 12 cell battery with the DV4000'*, and slightly higher with the DV1000'*.
Here'* a listing I put up today to give people an idea of what I've got. I usually sell these between $220 and $300, depending on specs, cosmetic condition, and how fast I need to get rid of it.

I have several more at home as well.

I want one, but don't really need one all that bad, even if it is an older one. Only need is wireless. I have been sizing up them netbooks, but finances are unforgiving right now. Side note, if anybody wants to kick me a working throwaway
