FYI - There was the Firebird (SE), Firebird Formula (SSE), and TransAm (SSEi)....

Or

Firebird (SE) Firebird Formula (GT) Trans Am (GTP) and Firehawk (GTX)
Those are GP levels!!!!

BAN HIM!!!

And I don't think of the FireHawk that often. I'm not a big fan of the newer Firebird family. Still nice cars, but I much prefer the classic "Smokey and the Bandit" T/A myself.....

The WS6 package did add horsepower. And the ratings for all changed between 97-02. I believe the HP started at 305 for the 97 WS6 and SS.

Trans am has the center mounted fog/driving lights like the SSEi and the Firebird had the outer mounted lights. that is the easiest way. SIngle exhaust outlet is a 6 cyl, Other than that, it is really just badges for those who don't want to go into too much detail.

Rats guys you all stole my thunder being the major F-body guy on here.
They got it pretty correct. The trim levels changed year to year.

The 1990 Bandit II is a Firebird, but has the looks of a T/A with the ground effects, (and faux shaker hood) etc. But it is only a lil' 3.1.

There are distinct differences depending on what Generation of Firebird or TransAm you're comparing.
I will explain to you in a few weeks during our Meet.
