Default Toyota surpasses GM in quarterly sales...

http://www.clickondetroit.com/automo...35/detail.html

Americans have no pride in our own products, and before someone says well American cars aren't so American (parts, assembly, etc.), the profits still come home to the US, rather than over to Japan. Also the Big 3 still employs more americans than the Japanese brands. Not to mention American cars are just as reliable, heck I drive one!

vent done

Not to mention that Toyota was actually pretty nervous about this year..... first "import" ( Camry ) to enter NASCAR, the new Tundra release, and news that they planed to take over the #1 spot for selling the most vehicles worldwide.

They were and probably are now more then ever worried about buyers reactions to all of this, and their possible retaliation on Toyota.

The worst thing about this whole deal is that my local news channel had this as "Breaking News"!!! When the reporter said the news, she acted VERY excited and upbeat about it.

Anyone here read Motor Trend??

This is an editorial done by Angus MacKenzie a few months back. Not saying that I agree with everything said here, and I don't expect anyone here to either.... it does bring up some interesting points.

not sure what else you would expect for a modern car with better build quality at a cheaper price. Nicer ride and normally more saftey features for less cost.

My mom just got a new camry. Lowest model possible but with the V6. You tell me how many other american cars come with a V6, auto speed (with sequential shift), and other stuff for 20g? Pretty much none of them.

If american companies would get with the times and put out a car that isn't ugly they may see a gain.
