Does it carry over at her workplace? If so she'* lucky. I know mine, and more companies now, are not allowing people to carry their vacation time over to th following year.
Yes it carries over and rolls over too. For instance shes maxed what she can accumulate for vacation so it rolls over into sicktime on her anniversary (hire) date which is also when she gets next year allocation. 6wks vac/yr, 12 personal, 12 sick days, 12 holidays, and whatever she can accumulate in compensatory time (if she works an hour extra she gets an hour of comp time) ... Public employees...but who can beat the laid off UAW

I have to force myself to take vacation because the company rule is "Use It, or Loose It".
Right now I have 46 days of vacation and 28 days of sick leave accumulated!!!
I can only have 52 days vacation and 30 days sick in the books without loosing them. At least the excess sick leave goes to a fund, not the vacation time.
