tip for mon 12-2, its always a good idea to keep some gas in the tank to cool the pump but even more so as its gets cold, less chance of lines freezing if you get some water in your tank and taking out your pump.

Tip for Friday 20 December 2013.
Vented batteries, like the battery that goes under the back seat of many Pontiac Bonnevilles, can be tough to find and are often very pricey.
Many Wal-marts stock the vented battery required in some Bonnevilles and othe GM passenger vehicles. Wal-Mart sells these batteries about $30 cheaper than retailers like AutoZone, and many Wal-marts are open 24 hours, allowing one to buy the battery day or night.

Canadian Tire sells them as well.

Wow Mike a Gallon of blinker fluid !
My "TIP" is to try using bulb grease..on the base...
That ensures you are protected when you stick your bulb it into the socket !!

if your doors are frozen shut and you cant get in, don't yank on the handle! pull the handle and use an edge to pull the door open. that way you don't break your handle and have to replace it.

Coat your door seals with something like a cooking spray or some Crisco. This will keep the seals from freezing to the door jams.

That only works if the whole car/doors do not look like a sheet of covered ice.
I saw a guy on TV using a hair dryer to melt the ice around the door, to get into the drivers side ...nasty freezing rain conditions! I guess that is where anyone which has remote start and auto heat on is, in better shape in those conditions!
