how do you figure that? figuring he was getting an average of 30 mpg, or even slightly less...at an average price being 2.899, he would be spending approximately $0.10/mile?

So....6500 miles a month maybe roughly cost him... $630?

^That'* in gas ALONE. My Civic costs me 7.07 cents per kilometre for gas, or 11.38 cents per mile. This is based on my ACTUAL fuel costs from January 2007 to date, averaging 30.59mpg along the way.

Mileage reimbursemnt doesn't take into consideration your auto make, model, or event he current price of gas. Mostplaces use the federal standard which is enough to supposedly include wear and tear.

A company i used to work for didn't want to pay for airline tickets for me to go to NYC for them so I drove and got $180 for mileage. A plane ticket back then was $59. I don't remember what gas cost then but my S15 got 36mpg roundtrip both times I had to go.

Why would anyone do that? It has less than a third of the miles. We all know a good percentage of 3800s can go 300k or more. 930k? Meh, that remains to be seen.
