4 cyls are DEFINALTY not created equal... look @ the new STI'* 4 cyls yet they are on par w/ a zo6 for accelleration.... i will say..American manufacturers do not know how to make the efficient and yet still amazingly powerful 4cyls the japanese do... even though most of your "imports" are made here in the states....another example of a power 4 cyl.. Eagle talon TSI and after some research based on a current members inspiration to me the Mitsu Starion..... yes alot of the big show imports use 6'* (skyline, supra or lambo'*/Porsches even bigger engines.) but cmon how many of us are ACTULLY gonna afford that....... to me spending 30K on a 4cyl turbo WRX STI is MUCH better than spending 100,000+ on some other "hip/popular" import....

one more point is comparing a 4cyl in an S10 to a 4 cyl in an STI are 2 different things... truck and car 4cyls are ALSO worlds apart in technology and in the purpose they serve...
