Default Katie is brewing now!

Chip off the old block. Just like dad. Just brewed her first half-case. I'm so proud!

It'll sit carbonating for 3 or 4 days, then go in the reefer for 24 hours before drinking it. If this batch works out, we may play around with the next batch. We'll let you know in a week how it was.

you should save one for when she turns 21, that would be sweet, do they stay that long?

Dood. Read the label on the case. Carefully.

Brewing this in the traditional way like this actually does result in a TINY amount of alcohol, but it'* so small, it doesn't really matter.

Playing around a little. I just mixed up some sugar water in a plastic bottle, and dumped in an entire packet of dry (beer) brewer'* yeast, then put a balloon on the neck. Trying to show Katie what the yeast does to the sugars, and what the result is. I'll post pics as it blows the balloon up.

www.mrbeer.com

Start there, then start to play around. Read up, make good beer. Get a starter kit, and your brewing will take on a life of it'* own.

Very good Katie.
A life skill you will be rewarded for much later in life as well as now with some great Root Beer. Better than A&W.

We finally after 2 weeks, got rid of our empties for deposit refund. Two full shopping carts full of Beer cases and liqueur bottles. $21.40 :P

www.morebeer.com

you can get a starter kit and ingredients for about 100 bucks

makes much better and more variety than a beer-in-a-can setup like mr.beer

morebeer.com also has a decent forum
