Default Smart Car meets My bonneville

Dad'* friend came over and I had to see the length difference. The 2000+ bodies are just over the length of 2 smart cars

Silver part at the rear of the smart car is where my mirror is

If by smart, you mean a good way to die instantaneously in a car wreck... yes. Those things have no room to crumple without taking the occupants with it. That said, I've never seen one on a road.

Actually,

Smart vehicles use a very small front crumple zone. The main structure of the car is a stiff structure called a Tridion, which is designed to activate the crumple zones (if any) of a colliding vehicle. This design creates a very strong safety cell around the passengers. However, it also subjects them to higher forces during an accident than in a conventional car.
They are pretty safe for their size.
