More shingle troubles...
The complex finally got roofers in to repair the roofs from the damage that dropped shingles on my car, and what do they do?
Drop an entire pallet of shingle right through the roof of the building!
A$$hat running the boom-lift extended the boom too far, tipped forward, dropping the pallet off the forks and through the roof, before slamming back down on the pavement. They went through the sheathing and a rafter over my neighbors bathroom, which is right next to our front hallway. Fortunately, it didn't go through the ceiling, and it somehow missed the A/C ducting for the bathroom.
Woke me up out of a sound sleep, too. Thud, crash, BANG, and a sound like an aluminum gutter getting torn off a house, which I can only assume was the forks on the lift banging when it came back down...

that reminds me of a similar lift truck working on the 94 project in michigan. they where on top of a bridge trying to use it as a half *** crane. (how i dont know) but yea too much weight and there she went tipped over the bridge and luckly the arm was extended enough so it hit the ground and stopped the rest of the lift trunck from going over the bridge completely. it took them forever to figure out how to get that damn thing back on all 4 tires on the bridge. ill see if i can find it in an old news article or something.
