need to no how to disable a toggle switch.. desperatly.thank
hi my friend drives a 95 caprice with the LT1 corvette motor.. he has recently started having a problem with his toggle switch that you need to press in while you turn the key in order for the car to start.... its a 75 amp toggle switch that has 2 wires only ( a positive and a negative) which both of the wires from the switch go to the cars voltage regulator.. the positive wire from the toggle switch goes to the same spot on the voltage regulator as the main power wire from the battery,* positive terminal. and the negative wire from the toggle switch also goes to the voltage regulator but it has its own connection spot on the voltage regulator...
now when you disconnect the positive wire or the negaitve wire only from the toggle switch the car gets absolutly no power to anything .. it must be connected for the car to be able to start..
does anyone no how to disable this toggle switch as its starting to go bad and sometimes mt friend will take like a half hour of playng with the toggle switch just to start the car.....
its only 2 simple wires but i dont no what to do if we remove the switch and wires...
if anyone can please help then i would highly appericate it and so would he.... thanks alot again bc members.....

also i should splice the wires together as close to the voltage regulator as possible since he will be reomoving the switch for good correct?

the caprice doesnt have VATS? thats odd.. my old 94 Roadmaster had it, im surprised the caprice doesn't have it, unless its a 9C1 (police package)[/quote]
yes its the pc1 police package. its a lil beat up body wise but has original 48,000 miles as it was a sheriffs car he got at a police auction for i believe $1200. inside is nice and the motor is STRONG and clean and man can that thing sure smoke the WHOLE ENTIRE block up like nothing....
