need to buy an LCD monitor... help...
Whats the best thing to look at when buying a monitor.
i've been looking at a few 19" widescreens...
whats better, a high resolution, high refresh rate, High contrast ratio? I don't know what any of it means really...

what is your budget?
A high resolution is good, if it doesn't support at least 1600x1200 I am not interested
a high refresh rate is good for gaming, read more here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Refresh_rate
this explains the contrast ration: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contrast_ratio
I, personally have been looking at getting two 22" LCD'* and the prices are getting pretty cheap, they had this one on sale last week for $179.99, http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...647&CatId=2775

Not refresh rate.. Responds time
8sec or less is what you want.
Newegg has a crap loud at great prices and fast shipping

Look for 2-5ms response. Acer and Viewsonic are good. I like Samsung as well, but some reviews complain of bad bleedthrough.
Personally I have a friggin' 28" Viewsonic 1920x1200 3ms beast. GO BIG OR GO HOME!

If I may, I would like to recommend this:

I've seen and used that monitor personally. The resolution sucks (like most 19" widescreens), but if you can get past that, it'* a beautiful display.

I have a 17" BenQ FP71G that has been successfully refurbed (still in its box). Its a bit small for your use Darrel. There is so much to choose from out there, good luck!

Still, there'* something about new...
I would have expected more than a 90 day warranty, though. :? Hannah'* refurbed tablet had the full standard factory warranty - one year, I think.
