Funny thing, the press states Libya as the reason. Real reason is much deeper than that. I have a little plan, open drilling up instantly to all areas no matter what in the USA. Stop all agriculture subsudies and give that money to companies that want to start drilling in the USA and refine in the USA. Farmers save huge as fuel goes down and price and not longer need subsudies. USA starts to export food in large quanties. Seems like a simple plan, except for the corporate farmers who get paid millions not to plant....... And we can quit relying on the Middle East to mess with the USA economy.

I hear ya. I drive too much to afford this gold. My 2 hours a day on the road are killing my wallet. Especially since the Buick is only averaging 21.5mpg up and over the mountains to work and back.
Good thing I kept the Cruiser. May need to put that back on the road for the summer when this crap tops $6/gallon. Same with my dad'* Neon. Thing gets about 35mpg, much better than the 23 the van is getting. I miss my 5sp 94 Escort LX. That thing got 40mpg being driven on nearly same roads I do now.

Fairfield county in Connecticut (the Gas Tax State, as our license plates should say). I just drove past $3.73 for regular, $4.06 for premium. That'* the expensive station in that town, though; everyone else is $3.50-$3.60.

But hey, it'* at least 25-30 cents cheaper where I live.

I was in New Jersey the other day and saw gas for $2.97. Makes me wish I dropped a 16-gallon gas can into my boss'* car before we left.

Correct. Read an article saying Libya holds only about 2% of the world'* oil reserves. That'* a literal drop in the bucket.
