Bug - A error or glitch in a program
Debug - Removing or fixing of the bug in order to make the program work better, sometimes known as a version such as 1.0, 1.1, 1.2..

ugh, i believe it was because an actual "bug" was found in a computer once that was causing it to mess up. So they found the bug, and took it out.

The orignal computers were made of TUBES that glowed and generated quite alot of heat. The computer bug was a moth that flew into one of the first computers and caused it to fail.

I know this one...from my "A" school Navy days:
Yes, the term literally came from a bug being inside a computer. It was on board a Naval ship, when computers were first being introduced to them (if memory serves, it was an analog range computer for targeting). A moth had gotten into one of the relay contacts and, well, prevented the relay from doing its thing. So there you have it...
Damn, got beaten to it...WTG Xac!
