Some where TT. The last few years could be had with twin turbos. I don't know about previous years.

Some Bonneville'* ran high 16'*? hahhahahah! Not all were supercharged? ??

Just like any other car, there were different trims of the SUPRA. No, not all were twin turbo. It doesn't mean they were "overrated" because some weren't turbo charged. the HYPE is about how fast the TT'* ARE, not how much slower the non turbo'* are.

By the looks of the ET, this is the slowest possible combination of the MKIV Supra: ~220hp non-turbo I6 coupled to a 4-speed automatic, typically if you encounter one on the road, it'll be a turbo model.

You do not want to be messing with the twin-turbo model - at 320hp stock, most owners up the boost.

The big boys all convert to single turbo, as more top end power can be had with a big, big fat single.

Before you talk smack, I suggest you look into things a little more.

I was joking about the rice/ hype part. I know that most Supras are very fast. I just found it humorous how slow this one is. So I gave "it" some sh*^t. You guys took the post WAY too seriously.

ever herd of a 7M-GTE older turboed supra motor

has a nasty habit of tossing head gaskets instead of a regular tune up you do the plugs wires and send the head out to be milled

but for me i want a 85 supra with a 1JZ-GTE and a 6 speed can you say 1000# lighter and rev like a banshie

Alright, but the L67 isn't as moddable as the 2JZ-GTE. Remember that.

The 7M-GTE only has as much a habit of tossing head gaskets as the quality of workmanship that goes into fixing it. Milling the head, using ARP bolts at 80ft-lbs, OEM gasket (absolutely no aftermarket regular type gaskets) and ensuring that the block surface is good - all essential, and after which, the gasket won't bug you. If using an aftermarket metal head gasket such as the HK$ or Titan Motorsports, machining the block surface becomes much more important.

Its advantage is relatively cheaper modding compared to the later motor, doesn't take too much to make one fast.

My cup of tea, personally... Cressida, 1UZ Lexus V8, 5-speed.
And oh yeah, a MKII Supra would be nice also. Same 5M-GE that I'm used to, but in a lighter package...
