Glad to hear you aren't going with the Explorer/Mountaneer. My brother had two (1995 XLT and 1997 EB -still has the EB), but he had to rebuild the trans in the 1997, and 3 months after he sold the 1995 the trans went out in that. I've heard the trans in these are not their strongest point -almost as bad as the 4T65-E ...maybe even worse.
I really like the looks of the Explorer EB and Limited'*, but as was stated ^^^ -the 4.0L V6 is WAY underpowered. I personally wouldn't mind a V8 EB for weekend fun -mpgs are horrible too -my brother who has the Explorer EB has a 1999 Expedition too and the 4.0L Explorer only gets 1.5 - 2 mpg'* better on average compared to the Expedition E.B.'* 5.4L V8.

Pretty solid trucks as far as I know. But...
gas mileage :(
I didn't notice this thread, I had 1999.5+ Nissan Pathfinder in my head.

Nice choice. I like that styling for the Durango, and as always, especially in blue.
edit: SO! Actually reading the post is good too. Silver is also an excellent choice, but I stand by my love of blue Durangos.

Merry Christmas to us. I drove the family in the trusty Aurora to St. Catharines Ontario, for a big family Christmas dinner and in the driveway of my uncles house was our new (to us) 2000 silver Dodge Durango SLT (V8 Magnum).
Its a beauty, brand new tires, brakes, rotors and ball joints (recall part) the black leather is nice, very rugged truck but has some decent interior appointments and I love the silver colour with the white/silver badges.
Kinda lacking in power (235bhp/295tq) but has the towing capacity that blows my mind! (and we have nothing to tow..lol)
I'll post some pics next week once the truck is back in our driveway.
