Very cool
I was checking out some parts sites and came across this. Not for the 3.8'*, but cool all the same.

The basic sports 2.4 supercharger package engines are already at over 240 hp at the flywheel (nearly 200 at the wheel!) and the new hybrid 2.5 engines are looking at numbers close to the 300 mark. The results are a very strong and reliable engine with power to spare for street or sports use.

just a different application of an M62. A turbo or CSC would probably be better for a DOHC car due to their high revving abilities.

Maybe it'* just my crappy monitor at work..but why is the filter left out in the open to get soaked from all the heat??

you can see the injectors all in a row on the front, so I think its an I4. Whos smart idea was it to put the filter in the back behind the battery and NOT SHIELD IT!

thats the Olds QUAD 4 engine. it was a great engine in terms of the #* it put out.. it'* a small engine but puts out 170hp in my cousin'* '90 Berretta GTZ. i heard there were some probs with it in terms of reliability? but my cousin hasn't had any problems with it. It'* kinda rough but packs some punch. I'm surprised to see they fit a SC in there... must have been some work to fit it in cuz its kinda crowded in here.

It seems to be a common thing in those smaller GM cars that "CAI'*" have open cones. If you look at pics of modded Cavi'* and Sunbirds you'll see it.
