Well, I'm sure all of you know that when you are a pet owner, a time will come that you have to let one go. I was unfortunate enough to have to do this this afternoon. My black and white saddleback clownfish'* swim bladder ruptured and it was unable to swim to the surface of the tank to feed. More than that, it was unable to really swim along the bottom of the tank. If it were more mobile, I would have attempted to keep it fed and alive, but it'* immobility forced me to euthanize it. It sucked but little Nigel is now literally sleeping with the fishes. Had I left it to die as it was meant to, I fear it would have met it'* demise by the mouth of the pencil urchin(famous for eating my fish...). To add insult to injury, my blue hepatus tang insisted on attempting to spike it. Nigel went to sleep with some clove oil, and finally drank the last of my Mezcal tequila(Thanks Ben!). You may go back to your regularly scheduled lounging.
