I had to replace an oil pan on a 95 once (oopsy!). It was a fun car to drive, seemed very modern for its age. But they are right, repairs on these cars will suck you dry if you are unlucky enough to have mechanical problems. I believe that is going to call for premium gas as well. I'm starting to notice more now that I'm driving twice as much as I used to. I keep wondering where all my money goes until I start entering fuel receipts.

Well, nothing is set in stone yet. I guess it'* presumable that the AWD 5-speed V6 would be funner, more fit for a teenager. Y'all wouldn't happen to know how they do on gas, would ya? I know nothing about them. From the reviews I've been looking at, it just seems to be the luck of the draw. And by his email, it seems it'* a good one...
"Sorry for the delayed response but I've been out of town this weekend.* I'd be glad to show the car tomorrow, after 5 PM or so, or any day after that.
*
As far as past problems go there are no major issues (accidents).* I bought the car from a*my brother in law*in 2005 and*he bought it from the original owner in Germany in 1998 while he was deployed there.
*
I had the pleasure of riding in and driving it on the Autobahn in 1999 during a visit and jumped at the opportunity to buy it in 2005.* I traveled for work from 2005 until late 2007 so the car was driven only on weekends, to and from the airport.* Nearly all of the miles I have put on the car have been <65 MPH trips to and from KSC from Merritt Island.
*
The worst thing that has ever happened to it was when my brother in law ran over a retread and put a dent in the hood and cracked the exhaust pipes.* Both catalytic converters have been replaced as a result (one in 2004 and one in 200 and the dent is still in the hood.
*
I have always changed the oil and oil filter myself (Mobile 1 Synthetic) at 5000 mile intervals.* I replaced the brake pads when I bought the car and have never had to worry about them since.* ABS works perfectly (you can feel it activate when braking on rough surfaces or gravel) and the rotors have never shown any signs of pulsing or pulling.
*
As I said in the ad, if I was going to drive the car for another 25k miles, I would replace the shocks and see about replacing the ignition switch.* Apparently there is an issue with the switch itself that causes the spring inside to fail which makes is necessary to turn the switch back to the ON position after starting.* I've seen some*chatter on the Internet*about a recall and tried to talk to Audi of Melbourne about getting it replaced but didn't have the time or motivation to pursue it.* I've gotten so used to turning the switch back to ON that it doesn't bother me anymore.
*
The interior is in good shape for a car of its age.* There are no tears or rips in the leather.* I have always used leather conditioner and I think my brother in law did too.* There are some spots here and there that could probably be removed but I don't know how to clean leather and didn't want to risk damaging it.
*
All of the windowsand power mirrors*work and I just replaced the plastic guides on the driver'* window.
*
Please let me know if you have any other specific questions about the car and I'll do my best to answer them.
*
The VIN is WAUEA88D2VA162851."
He even gave the VIN. Thanks for the link V. If they're anything like GMForum, I'll be one lucky guy. This is one of the biggest reasons I don't want anything but a Bonnie. I LOVE this forum.

hmmm..an audi which like has been said, are often found in and out of the shop for repairs..ad this one has 200k miles which means parts are going to start going bad just due to age and mileage, and at the high cost to replace parts and labor.
I'd personally stay away. Ya it might be cool to own an Audi..but I'd much rather have something made by GM with a 3800 in it with 200k miles, since repairs if needed are easy, and much cheaper.
Just my opinion though. Good luck with whatever you end up getting!
