Softball/Baseball Training Ideas
Thinking about playing some mens softball this spring/summer. Problem is I havent played baseball since I was a Junior in highschool, and softball since I was a 8th grader on a mens team. I know I got the skill as long as I practice, it will come back to me easily. I need to get into a training routine where I focus on the muscles that I will be using again. Doing sprints and steps can help with my speed, while pushups and curls are always good for hitting and fielding. I go to the gym to begin with few times a week, but its more of a "general" routine.
So, all those dedicated ball players out there, let me hear ya training sugestions.
I plan on hitting the batting cages soon, so I can at least get some timing back. I was playing catch with my cousin today (football) for about 90 minutes strait, and my arm feels pretty good, granted my longest throws were only around 30-40 yards, but Im glad it didnt turn into jello. Im not looking to get into all pro shape, but something that I dont pass out on the first day of practice, lol.
