Well - here we go with the newb interjections. Maybe your curious about what'* on the outside looking in/ coming in?

I don't know what the site was like before, but compared to other forums I'm a member of: I like it. I like the logo'* and look - its new and fresh to me. The site itself seems fast which is really neat. Its familiar enough to me for easy navigation and so far its not too busy for me to keep up with.

I see a few familiar faces (Britney might have had something to do with me registering so blame her), but it seems to me most of what I'm reading here is that Bonneville owners feel threatened that they will not have their Bonneville place anymore. I can understand that - that is totally fair. It just makes sense to me and thats why I'm not really sure this is the forum for me. I don't want to ruin it for the Bonneville owners. Honestly, I think it was better off BF. I think I'd feel less like an immigrant being an active member with a Monte (and a Regal) in a Bonneville forum then in a GM Forum with members protecting an underlying identity.

I'll try to keep my Monte stuff to my own section if it helps.

We welcome all GMs here. This is why we are giving each there own area to build up and have fun with. The best part is you get to build up your area they way you want. Your input is always welcome.

Thanks for the compliments Junior, Jason, all who are upbeat about it. A number of reasons swayed us to where we are at today.

Fresh, Themes, Logos, Fast Page Loads, FTP, Forum Hosted Albums, Securely Hosting/Backing Up/Protecting a Huge Database nearly 10 years old and strong..... etc. They cost money. People have loved what we have done with the Forum since it was bought from the person that killed it. (Literally. Offline and Dead) But few seem to know the hows and whys. Money. What we have rebuilt, what we enjoy today, and what we envision for the future doesn't come from wishing. Nor can it or does it come from the normal avenues of putting up a Forum on a free or low budget hosting site using Forum Freeware. No more than can we make a Cadillac out of a Cobalt with a pass of a "Magic Wand". We have been back up o the 'net for 2 years, and Support and Subscriptions has been great, the Person who financed it has been great, and the member participation stellar. But we have been unable to attract sponsors. The hard truth of the matter is the Bonneville is a discontinued Model of a Defunct Brand of GM.

I had to responsibly evaluate the future of the Club/Forum, and at the same time not allow Us/It to back-peddle, or compromise it'* Attributes and features.

Add to this that alot of talk from members that wanted to include fellow 3800 powered vehicles, and other GM platforms they drive, and the chance opportunity to pick up this very attractive Domain name. It made for what I felt could improve the Forum, attract some needed revenue, create more activity, and boost our membership. I brought this idea out in the open and asked the General Membership what they thought of it. It received almost 100% consensus and approval. Si it went forward.

I think I worded the thread a little different than what I was thinking, and type of responses I was looking for by a few. (Not that I cant understand or take criticism)(You can't please everybody) But just like the Thread that started this expansion, most here seem positive about it. Here'* the Deal:

The expansion is done. By Majority General Consensus and will not/can not be reverted. I as much as anyone want to keep our Bonneville Heritage and Roots intact and alive. I also want to embrace our Fellow GM Brand Owners that enjoy a good well formatted, fast loading, friendly Forum. What I really wanted here wasn't Praises, or Criticisms. They won't help the first two sentences of the Paragraph. I would really like views on whats right with what we have, and what should be/ could be changed.

We will be seeing quite a few changes to the basic structure formatted to accommodate the expansion. The more idea'* and suggestions I get during this process, the better I can serve the General Membership'* view of where to go from here. As far as preserving our Heritage as we move forward. One thing is sure and certain. We will not/can't move backwards. I appreciate the large Majority of people liking the expansion, and I also sympathize with the few that see it as less than desirable. But it'* done. And how much we preserve of the old and the quality of it can be helped best by talking about things to improve on what we now have.

Venom, Keep up the good work...I'm here for the following reasons;

I love my bonny, the resources here are impeccable, Also with the economy the way it is i cant afford to guess on whats wrong with something, i come here and trouble shooting is a breeze, so by all means keep this going by what ever means possible. so people remember this support here is wayyyyy cheaper than going to a dealer who will careless of us like gm did to the best cars made...Glenn

Thanks for the kind Words Glenn. Although it was my thinking and direction that put us back on the map, I cant take credit for the mechanical. I gathered the best 3800 gearheads I could think of when I rebuilt the Club. Danthurs and Bill Boost head a Tech Team here second to none. Being at the top isn't all shine, honor, and plaudits. It can be a very frustrating position as you evaluate situations and try to do the best for the majority. I love this place and it'* success is the culmination of countless latenight hours by all 3 Admins and an owner that has patiently waited for hopes of getting his investment back. I am both delighted this project has gone so well, yet can feel for the people that feel they lost something.

We are and always will be the "Home of the Pontiac Bonneville Club" I myself have the last one made, in the top trim level and want to assure all it isnt going anywhere or wont get buried or overshadowed by any other GM model here. I've reread the feedback here a couple times and a few things have been changed already, and some others being implemented. We will stay true to what built this place, and the policies and friendliness most have come to love it for.
