laptop problem
aloha from hawaii!!. well im on my trip and ive taken like 400 pics so far and i was transfering them over to my laptop and it the screen went all funky and it froze up. well now it just keeps turning off and on. well i let it sit for a lil bit and i tryed it again and i got it to boot up but it wont go into windows. what can i do? i am able to get to the bios and it does ask me if i wanna choose safe mode(which i tryed to boot to but it wont). im 4000+ miles from my recovery cd but im just worried about my pictures that were already on the computer. can they be saved? im taking it to best buy in the morning cuz i have the best buy warrenty.

the pics should be there on the hard drive......just tell them at best buy that you need everything backed up and you mean everything and hopefully they wont throw a disk at it and wipe it clean......thats what they usally do is just throw a disk in and wipe it.....

backup backup backup backup backup
I run a script that backs up all of the computers on my network. Every day.
Then I run a script to backup the computer that does the backup.
Will send you a perl script to do it if you want, free of charge.

Get you one of them external hard drives for your laptop. That'* my biggest complaint about laptops, no room for a built in backup drive.
