"The early morning Venom take on it"

Better pack that Prius with arms and ammunition as well. I have been reading several reports and recent studies. (Just google "oil shortfall/shortage")(Like 99% of America, you won't and crack a beer and turn on the tube). Developing Countries and the surge of manufacturing in China, Indonesia, and India; Plus our own stubborn habits; have created a consumption curve that shows the world falling short of oil by 10 Million Barrels by 2013. By 2015 endless regional wars could escalate and spread like wildfire. This probably cant be stopped. It most likely has come down to inevitable. Its funny that these forecasts used to be in the 2025-2040 range. Well the "Modern World" went global alot quicker than the number crunchers thought and as well they didn't factor in that the people who occupy the new manufacturing centers of the world also want their share of McDonalds, Coca Cola, and Levi'* jeans. Oil hunger is bringing Armageddon and throwing it into our face. And the General Media and Public persistently keep their heads in the sand. "It just couldn't happen"??? It IS happening. Think me and the new forecasters crackpots, and sit back and an enjoy a quiet beer while you can. Hard facts and figures are screaming at us and nobody wants to hear it. IMO If we don't get control of Iraq/Afghanistan quickly, topple the Iranian and North Korean Regimes immediately, and do some incredible beefing of our Armed Forces and equipment, while trying to strongly ally ourselves to the Soviet AND Chinese governments, we won't be able to control not only worldwide threats, but civil unrest here could turn our little piece of the world into warzone itself. When there can't be enough oil produced to even keep everyone alive, let alone comfortable, all Hell is going to break loose and paper currency will likely become more valuable as a heat source than legal tender. The old adage, "time will tell" is coming of age. "Time" has become "Now". Besides the military strategies, we need to rush offshore oil into production (it'* share of world wide percentage is low, but shortfalls are for now, also) have the huge military held reserves of Wyoming and Montana ready for emergencies (both civil and Military), and get nuclear renewable on a fast track like it was on crack.

And I bet you NASCAR and all our other oil WASTING past-times wont even slow down.

To think, some people think I am silly to spend so much time modifying my vehicles to increase mileage.

:edit: Just remember though.... there is a LOT of untapped canadian oil, there is oil in the midwest we arent even pumping (seriously, the stations are just sitting there abandoned). Always consider the possibility that this is also in part propaganda by the oil companies so they can raise oil prices. Though, I am not of that opinion, rather, I would only go as far as to say they are hoping for additional hysteria and hype that will drive up prices ahead of shortfalls.

Here is a good page though:

I'll add another

I seriously doubt the figures are skewed, they are to numerous, to consistent, and coming from a broad range of interests, and the US Military starting to grumble. Stockpiles are going, going, gone and not something you can hide in a closet. I agree that the capped spigots of the Midwest and Teapot Dome Reserves of Wyoming/Montana need to be brought online to divert this crises. And we need quit the BS "Green Crap" that should have been researched and developed 50 years ago. Time for studies, incentives, and developing technology has past as far as an near future fix. This is in our face NOW. The only Technology that could possibly save us while we use our "buffer oil" is Nuclear. "Drill and Build Nuclear Baby!"

I still remember what a teacher said to me years ago. Why do we mess around in the middle east taking there oil when we have so much here? Because that way we can use up what they have, and when it'* gone, we still have our own. We don't have to export ours, we keep it for our self when everyone else is out.

I'm not to concerned about it, why? Tech will keep up and advance. Most of the US electricity comes from coal. Nothing comes from oil. Doom and gloom.

How do you run a car off of Nuclear? I've heard several alternative strategies but never Nuclear.

Also, there is some oil we have here, we can't use it here because the tree huggers say to much sulfur. so, what do we do, sell it to Japan.
