I live in a very rural section of N.E. PA and the closet city is called Binghamton, . It has one of lowest crime rates in the Nation and often thought a place where nothing has changed for generations. Today for no apparent reason some idiot blocked the back entrance to the American Civic Association here, a local community center, went in the front and started shooting people. When it was all said and done, 14 people are dead and 4 critically wounded. No reasons, links, or motives can be found. People get stranger by the day.

Just plain sick...

I watched this unfold today on the news. They said the shooter took his own life. Why in the hell didn't he just do that when he woke up this morning. I'm pretty sure he had that part planned all along, so why take the lives of the innocent? Crying shame....total waste!

Definitely planned, they havent said alot yet, he had several handguns and a bag of ammo around his neck. Nothing to the case so far. It appears so random at this point.

Officer over here in Cedar Rapids NE, was beaten almost to death. He'* in the hospital right now.

Officer Tim Davis was found unconscious last Sunday after he and his partner confronted people in an area of a robbery. Three teenagers are charged in the assault.
Police are now cracking down on sections of the city issuing tickets for small infractions, including jaywalking.
On average, police are reporting 25 percent more arrests per day this week than last. Police say they don't keep track of tickets for jaywalking or curfew violations."

CEDAR RAPIDS - Cedar Rapids officers have charged the third suspect from the assault on Officer Davis and robbery of David Scanlon.

He is Maurice Harden, 15, charged with first degree Robbery, Interfering with official acts causing serious injury and curfew violation.

Harden was charged after he turned himself in Tuesday. He was then transported to the Linn County Detention Center.

Cedar Rapids police officer Tim Davis suffered major head injuries when he was beat after he responded to a robbery on Sunday night. On Thursday morning, Officer Davis was still listed in guarded condition.

For three hours on Monday afternoon, doctors at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics operated on Davis. They called his injuries "life-threatening."

Ok this isnt anywhere near as bad as ^^^^ but definately random and interesting... will make you laugh and prolly want to cry while slapping your forehead and screaming MORON!!!

I got up late, did a few chores, and go online. First thing in my face is 3 Pittsburgh cops murdered and another wounded. In a "routine response" to a domestic incident. I mentioned in an earlier thread, Police Departments need to reevaluate present society and reeducate their Forces that there is no such thing as "routine call" any more. Peoples attitudes, respect for authority, and value of human life has steadily gone into the waste can. These idiots in the past few days have no idea or care of the many lifes they left ruined that must live on without those taken. I dont care what it costs the DA to prosecute that idiot, I certianly hope he'* got the cohones to go for Capital Punishment. Maybe if we started hanging people in town squares again, people might wake up. Video games and the general media make death so sterile and meaningless. Welcome to the aftermath. These aren't random events going on around the country. It'* a signal of of a mental sickness thats only going to accelerate. My opinion as I step off my soapbox.

What I read this morning on Yahoo is that the had planned on having a shoot out with the police, but sometime changed his mind and took his own life.
