Server Down - Crashola!
** POSTED HERE IN THE LOUNGE FOR VISIBILITY **
Members,
Today, around 11:45 a.m. Eastern the box hosting the site went offline. 2 of us have been working all day to bring it back up online.
We are here, online, but not out of the woods yet. We will likely be moving to a new box while we sort out why this one stopped playing nice.
Will this server crash again tonight, perhaps. Currently we are backing up all files in case this does happen and working on moving to the new box.
I apologize, this really should have been sorted within 2 hours of crashing, not 6.

I told Dan NOT to plug that power drill into 110v aux server outlet. He wouldn't listen. Said something about F this, I gotta have power.

IT WASNT DAN ! ! !
they told me NOT to plug in the microwave while he was using the power drill, the air compressor, and drop light, and the laptop off the 110 server outlet ... but the thought of popcorn just made me have to
i was curious what was going on earlier while at work... thought it was our comp because the net was slow and the site wouldnt come up along with a couple others... possible massive crash on several servers... i blame the russians and theyre viruses hehe j/k
Bio-Electronical Warefare... crash the servers in the US... make them go crazy... theyll kill each other off without the internet lol

What a relief. I thought IT at work had figured out one of my computers was dialled in to the Bonneville Forum all day, and cut me off. Thank goodness this affected everyone and not just me. Cause its all about me ya know.

Rick, in all seriousness, last Sunday at around 11:30 AM the site was slower than slow. It was taking up to 5 minutes to open threads, do searches, etc. It cleared up about 2 or 3 hours later. I'm pretty sure it was the site as opposed to my connection, because all other internet activity had normal response times. I only mention this because of the possibility this was a precursor to the crash yesterday. If it is, and we notice it again, we could raise the red flag when we observe the site being inordinately slow and perhaps avoid another crash.
Just thought I would mention it in case you think it is relevant.
