Dipstick colours
I checked the oil in my mom'* car several weeks back, and the dipstick gave me a green powdery substance on the upper part of the dipstick. I thought it was just a fluke, but I checked it yesterday and it had the same green powdery substance on it. Is this bad? What could this be? I changed the oil with Mobil One about 3 or 4 thousand miles ago. Along with a Pure One oil filter.
If my mom'* car takes a dump, it'll be my fault.. so I don't want the engine to blow up and then I get blamed.

The dip stick tube is sometimes made of brass, the green would be oxidation (copper content of brass).
I suspect its just minor but you should confirm its not coolant related, any oil in your coolant? Look in the overflo tank for sludge.

Alright... that seems like a logical explaination.
This isn't coolant.. it'* an '04, so it'd be Dex-Cool.. plus I would hate to see coolant that has turned into a powder.
It'* my mom'* '04 Beetle, with the 2L 4cyl
