Yep, that kill was done with one of the sniper rifles I was trained on in the army. If I remember right[having heard this story from a buddy in the 24th MEU [SOC]], It was an M82A1A AMSR[Anti-Material Sniper Rifle System]. Hell of a gun. Not to change from that marines bravery, there is another one my friends brother was involved in an IED bombing on a Humvee. He was in the cupola on a M-2, a Insurgent rolled up and threw an IED under the humvee. It exploded, ejecting him from the turret onto the ground and subsiquently on an old anti-personal mine. The three other marines in the humvee were wounded. The mine had failed to explode[not suprisingly], He picked up his M-16 and killed the two insurgents that were in the vehicle and proceeded to help patch up his buddys and ignoreing the injurys to himself. He is supposed to be getting either the bronze or silver star.

This thread reminds me of a bumper sticker I saw today at school...

My best friend is a Marine.......I wish nothing but the best for those guys...I have more respect for them than I do for anything else in the world.
