Loosing Weight
I'm about 30 lbs overweight and looking for some pointers.
What I have already:
Gym 3 times a week
subway every day
hiking on the weekends
reduce beer consumtions
no soda at all
no late night snacks
no deserts
I'm still not loosing any weight.

Seems like your body may be in the process of converting the fat to muscle to support your life changes.
Give it time...watch how your clothes fit..not your weight level for a while.

Maybe you should really start looking at what you are eating. Counting calories, fat, protein, etc... There are a lot of foods that seem healthy which really aren't. I'm not sure what you are eating at Subway, but if involves white bread (tonnes of excess calories), any mayo-based sauce, or copious amounts of cheese, you aren't doing yourself any favours.
You should also post more details concerning your gym workout. Don't focus on weights too much, make it heavy on cardio. As nice as it would be to be able to 'transform' your fat into muscle and get bulky and ripped, this is basically impossible. You pretty much have to slim down and then build muscle. That'* not to say cut out weights altogether though, as muscle helps you burn fat. But you should be doing periods of long, fat burning cardio (at 65% of your max heart rate).
How long have you been on this plan?
One last thing, the number one thing you need is determination. It sounds cliche and I'm not questioning yours, but you need to stick with the plan. Even brief lapses (junk food binge, missing a week at the gym) can really set you back. No plan or diet will work without dedication.

Hans, I have had weight problems since my legs were damaged many years ago. And the one thing You really have to apply yourself to is kill Carbs. Especially simple ones. Simple carbs keep your from burning fat.NO bread, sugar, beer, potatoes, pasta. NONE. It is hard to do but works. Alot of people dont drink enough fluids as well.

After the whole weight conversion process (where you're building muscle, but losing fat, yet gaining weight), it'* all about calories, they are the basis of your weight loss. The key is to burn more and consume less. That'* going to cause your weight to change.
Again, it'* about inches, not pounds. Muscle outweighs fat, and water weight (you should be consuming LOTS of water) will throw off the scales.
Believe it or not, fat is actually more directly affective towards your health, rather than your weight.

I agree with everything that'* been said. What you are doing is right. It will just take you body time to get used to the changes. But when it does, you will start to notice the difference. You will probably notice a size change in your clotes before you notice and weight loss in lbs.
Just keep up the positive attitude about enjoy the changes that will come.

I've lost about 25 pounds in the last few months. I stopped eating lunch for the most part, but having two "light" yogurts as a pretty late breakfast. Maybe an orange or bananna in the late afternoon. And I've been drinking very little pop.

One thing you have to do is give it time. Be patient and persistant. It took you 20+ years to get where you are, what makes you think you can turn back several years on the clock in 2 weeks?

another thing that no body has mentioned. well 2. eat Small meals 6 times a day and when you go to the Gym do cardio! I hate to do it but I do it. One thing that helps me also is going to the gym EVERY DAY except sat and sun(i wont do it just 3 times a week). 3 times a week lifting and 2 times cardio. ANd actually your suppose to do cardio before and after your workout.
