Ah yes....CNETs test. Found that varies from me, but generally in the area of 22 - 2400kbs. The test I just did this morning is 2215 kbs.

I started with the express ( max 1.5) for the first year I had it. Went to pro (max 3.0) after that. I can't say that under most cases I saw a significant difference in performance for downloads. I am not an online gamer, however. Where I did notice a difference is in the higher upload speeds.

I get optimum Online for FREE but its very slow and they limit connections for newsgroups so I use Verizon Fios for that.

That'* not bad, for that kind of speed. I see that Verizon will start a new fee soon. I'll bet the others will follow.

I have the basic SBC/Yahoo DSL internet. It'* a lot faster than the Satellite dish i was paying for before for the internet, and it'* about $50/month cheaper. I got 1155.5 kbps on that speed test. I have the basic DSL plan though.

I've had Ameritech/SBC/(Now) AT&T dsl at my house for 4-5 years now and each year it costs less and we get a faster speed. Right now we have 3mb/500kbs(other somthing close to that upload) I'm pretty happy with it
