SBC/At&T DSL, are you happy with it?
After years of dial up, I am thinking about leaping off and getting the DSL from At&T. I have heard some bad customer service reports, as well as substandard speeds and not able to connect. I know that some of these reports are probably from people who arent happy under any circumstances, so grain of salt has been applied
Does anyone here use it and are you happy with your service?

I like my Altell DSL. Even though Comcast Cable was better/faster. Make sure you don't download anything illegally, because AT&T is known for giving IP addresses out to the MPAA/RIAA.

I don't know why people say DSL is slower. Around here both cable and ATT offer the exact same speed packages. And I think with both it depends how many people in your 'hood are using it as well. I had ATT DSL when they were still SBC and I was very pleased. I got rippin download speeds. But yeah, I have heard that they are now giving out any customer info that any government agency wants.

we have sbc/at&t dsl. were pretty much happy with it, and all the problems we seem to have are, we think, because of our router. the internets gone out twice, i think, since we got it about a year and a half ago. and they were pretty good about getting it fixed the next day.

I've had it for about 3 or 4 years now. Currently have the DSL pro. I've dealt with customer service a couple of times and have not had any problems. I wish I could say the same for the regular telephone customer service people. My son has cable. In regular real word situations, there is no significant difference between them that we've noticed. During this time, I've had trouble connecting twice, and those both were due to server problems that took out the entire area. It was fixed in less than 5 hours.
