Default salt or sand?

Just curious. They use salt here. Makes the cars look horrible, and they are an absolute pain to work on. By the end of the day, I look like I was in a drug house full of coke that exploded!

Lots of salt here. The roads are mostly white during the winter, and I'm not talking about snow.

around here they use so much salt that as you drive down the road you have a huge cloud of salt behind you. They ue both white, and a blue type of salt. Dunno what the difference is between the two though. I hear the blue stuff eats away your car even worse. :(
