Default safe driving about St Louis

Don't know if any of you are around there, but we are having to make a trip on I70 from Colorado to indianapolis.
We will have a moving van. Rather than taking the nightmare of I-70 thru St Louis, is there a safer and easier route around the city, even if it is a bit longer?

Yeah, in a car it is not biggie, but a moving van, rough driving...

I'm through there about every other week, in a semi to boot. Take the I-270 bypass across the north side. Not only does it get you around the downtown snarls, but it is actually quite a bit shorter as I-70 drops down to the south to go through the city. Just be aware that that particular stretch is known for aggressive drivers.

Also, when you go through Kansas City, try using I-670 through downtown instead of staying on I-70. 670 cuts across a big almost-loop in I-70 around downtown KC.

BTW, are you; moving, helping someone else move, or just taking a really weird vacation?
And when are you coming out? Possibly make it to CEBF?

I'll take it a step further. You can also take MO 370 from I-270. This will join back with I-70.

I drive that 5 times a week

I am coming home. We are moving. Uhaul towing a dodge stratus (the H cars require all 4 wheels be off ground, unlike my wife'* stratus)
I am FROM Indy, I will not bore you with why I am in Colorado, other than my wife is from here. (and no, we are not taking I-70 thru Denver, we are taking I-25 to 24 to limon...)

Yep, a week from this day Saturady, we will be moving in our new place in Indy.

I do appreciate the help with better routes around St Louis.
So with 270 being known for aggresive drivers, would it still be safer to do 270 or just take the nasty road that is I-70? I am looking for safety more than anything.

And Kansas City, I never thought it was too bad, I remember it being a bit akward, but nothing Like St Louis.

I am gonna find a map of Missouri and better plan this trip. Even tho my wife may miss the Arch

Yeah, 270 is safe enough, just drive defensively. Besides, better to deal with them on a straight stretch of road like 270 than in that traffic nightmare downtown.
